Lion Catherine Thomas present the Hamlet Scholarships at the Richmond Senior High Academic Award Banquet on May 24, 2012. The two winners were Austin Glock Andrews of Rockingham and Lauren Ashley Harrelson of Hamlet. They each received a $2000 scholarship. The scholarship is named after two of Hamlet Lions Club long time members, who were also dedicate educators. Since it inception the scholarship has awarded over $40,000 to deserving Richmond Senior High School students.
